What you type stays in your browser — it is never sent to us and never stored. For audience measurement the site loads Google Analytics 4; consent for analytics storage is denied by default for every visitor, so it measures without cookies. There are no advertising tags.

Data controller

This website is a free gross-to-net salary calculator for Austria. It is operated and maintained by desymphony. The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the operating entity; you can reach it at info@desymphony.com. What data is processed

Using the calculator requires no sign-up, and we ourselves neither collect nor store any details that directly identify you — not your name, your social-security number, your email address or the amounts you enter into the calculator. All calculations are carried out locally in your browser; your entries are not transmitted to a server and are not stored permanently.

As with the operation of any website, the hosting provider may temporarily process technical connection data (for example the shortened IP address, the browser type and the time of access) in server logs, insofar as this is necessary for secure and stable operation. This data is not used to identify individual visitors and is not combined with other data sources.

Purpose and legal basis

Processing is governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), directly applicable since 25 May 2018, together with the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Technically necessary operations — running the website and storing a closed language suggestion in your browser’s local storage — rely on our legitimate interest in a functioning, secure service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

For analytics and advertising after launch, the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for every visitor worldwide, gathered through Google’s certified consent message; until you consent the tags run continuously in cookieless mode, no matter which country you visit from. There is no country or region where analytics or personalised advertising are on by default. Your choice is voluntary and can be changed at any time with effect for the future.

Cookies

The website sets no analytics or advertising cookies — analytics storage is denied by default, so Google Analytics 4 measures cookielessly. On an ordinary visit the only thing stored is a technically necessary entry in your browser’s local storage that remembers you closed the language suggestion, so that it does not reappear on every visit. One exception is added only if you ask for it: the gr_int flag, our own exclusion for internal visits. It is written only when a page is opened with ?internal=1 appended — as a cookie with a lifetime of one year, and additionally in local storage — and the measurement code reads it on every page view. On an ordinary visit nothing is written. It holds a single flag and nothing about you, and you delete it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Which cookies are used, and how to manage or withdraw your consent, are described on the cookie policy page. You can also delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics and advertising

Reach is already measured with an analytics service (Google Analytics 4, measurement id G-QH4XG39EXJ); advertising (Google AdSense) is NOT integrated and remains an intention for later. Both services are provided by a third party, Google LLC (USA), and may in doing so process data such as a shortened IP address, device identifiers and details about the content viewed; this may also involve a transfer to the United States. Cookies are set for this only after your consent, for every visitor worldwide, through Google’s certified message; until then the tags operate in cookieless mode (Google Consent Mode v2). There is no country or region where analytics or personalised advertising are on by default. As soon as these services are actually used, this policy will be supplemented accordingly. The operating entity does not control the content of third-party advertising and is not liable for its accuracy.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have, in particular, the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR) — to learn whether, and which, personal data about you is being processed.
  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — to have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — to request the deletion of your data.
  • Restriction and objection (Art. 18 and 21 GDPR) — to object to processing or to have it restricted.
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) — to receive your data in a common format or have it transferred.

Since we ourselves collect no data that directly identifies you, our processing is in practice very limited. For data processed after launch by Google as a third party, you also exercise your rights through Google’s tools (account and ad settings). Cookies that have been set can be deleted or blocked at any time through your browser. Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Do not send personal payroll data

Please do not email us personal details from your payslip — not your name, your social-security number or precise amounts. An example is enough, and the website itself collects and stores nothing that directly identifies you: what you type never leaves your browser.
